A crossing we describe, not sell
The high country west of the valley connects to the pastoral basin of Zagoria by old mountain paths. AKT's Këlcyrë page names Dhembel mountain among the area's attractions, which is as far as the sourced record goes on this site.
Pass elevations, crossing times and village-by-village route cards circulate on trekking blogs but are not in any primary source we cite, so we do not reproduce them.
The stone-village picture
What survives in the Zagoria villages is a built tradition of stone houses and arched bridges shared across this whole mountain region — the same craft tradition visible at the Ottoman-period bridges of the Përmet district. Describing that tradition needs no invented dates.
Why no guided itinerary appears here
Albania's tourist-guide rules mean a guided crossing requires a verified guide, and our catalog holds that discipline: no guide, no route, no offer. This note exists so a reader planning the crossing understands why the site says so little about it.

The same upland discipline applies on Nemërçkë; the valley's guided-activity rules are summarised in the rafting seasons note.
